Basement fire in a movie theater

E-92/L-44 1st due

BN-17 gave 10-75, rubbish fire in garage under movie theater

E-73 4th Eng., BN-26 on 10-75

L-49 FAST

BN-17, All Hands

71 was out on another box. Reassigned here replacing 73. Dispatcher announced them as normally first due.

Two boxes went out on this at 200 and 214 E 161 St. Turned out to the same incident. Lotsa people evacuated from the theater.

50/19 were first due on the second box transmission. Didn't hear that L55 was out. Heard bits and pieces and it was confusing with the two boxes going out, but my guess is

92 68 41 73 (replaced by 71)  55 44 49F

BN 17 was trying to find the source of the smoke,  and then another call came in, which sent

2d box

50 73.  19 42 .....

50/ 19 warned by Dispatcher of other companies responding in the vicinity. BN 17 then reported it was the same incident.

Didn't get it after that.

Sorry, but best info I recall.

Interesting in that E73 filled in for 71 on the first alarm the other night. That's a huge jump up the pecking order from the 1975 card. Probably a combination of factors: units out at the time; relocation to new quarters; and it was a War Years card.

I didn't hear any Manhattan units the other night on either box that sent out.
