Bill - thanks for the information you posted.  It is very much appreciated.

Coincidence - both SI and Manhattan had multiples for respective box 798 in each boro.

I hope to do this on a monthly basis. I am happy to see that there might also be others interested in the numbers.

There is, and will always be, "only ONE FDNY". Nobody else has any numbers like this. And just as a point of interest, the FDNY has MORE Working Fires than the ENTIRE State of Connecticut.

Nice info ... makes you wonder how the bean counters can justify any more cuts in manpower or companies

Thanks guys, I appreciate that. But it was really a pretty easy job just to type in and count up the numbers.

We all know who really did the work. It was every single one of the FDNY members that went to each one of those 231 Fires for the month of February. Each guy played an important part in doing their job. The guys on the nob. Some making a search in that heat and smoke. Some who got them the water. Some who opened the roof and some who raised the ladder or bucket to the roof. And in each one of those fires, somebody had to be in charge.

In addition, behind the scene were those 911 and fire dispatchers, sometimes taking several calls on each fire. Each one of those calls had to be answered. Some people didn't know where they were, they were excited and some could barely speak English. And if anybody got hurt, firefighter or civilian, the FDNY/EMS treated their injuries and then got them safely to the hospital.

We can do without "NFD2004". Anybody can count up the numbers. But we really can't do without the people who were a part of those numbers.
