Didn't 165 have a squad pumper for a little while or am I thinking of 156?Please forgive me if I seem clueless or incompetent, but what’s the deal with 165 supposedly getting a Squad-pattern pumper? The good captain has said in the rear mounts’ thread that 165 is getting one, and it’s to my understanding that they’re a HMTU, but the others don’t have Squad-pattern pumpers, so if this is true, why on earth is 165 the only company to get this privilege outside of SOC?
Thank you in advance to anyone who is willing to help me understand.
as far as i had heard back then, Engine 165 requested the rescue pumper because they are an HMTU. When squad 8 was organized the rescue pumper was reassigned to squad 8 and is now reserve squad 800.Didn't 165 have a squad pumper for a little while or am I thinking of 156?
To take a guess at your question, MAYBE the Department is considering getting the HMTU Engines into Squad Pumpers, and 165 could be a testing phase.
Don't take that for 100% fact, that is just me guessing.
That would make sense. This was their rig back in the day, so it would make sense that, given their status as an HMTU, they’d want a newer one after the job took the old one. Though I wouldn’t put it past the brass to realize that maybe all of the HMTUs should have a squad pumper, given they’ve already bought those fancy 2nd pieces for each of them.Didn't 165 have a squad pumper for a little while or am I thinking of 156?

Since Engine 67 will be a HMTU, will they get a rig from FSU or will they get a new rig as wellThat would make sense. Additionally, moving to all HMTUs having squad pumpers would ease up on maintenance, because the job could order more parts and actually use them for more than 8 rigs, even if it only goes up to a maximum of 13-15 rigs.
I haven’t the slightest clue if I’m onto something, so I’d appreciate feedback on my theories.
Cheers!

I thought E067 becoming an HMTU was cancelled because the city didnt want to pay for the extra 6% pay diff?Since Engine 67 will be a HMTU, will they get a rig from FSU or will they get a new rig as well
