This is a Boston Chiefs Helmet with eagle finial from a Marine Division and from my private fire memorabilia collection. I bought it back late 70's from a vendor for $60. Due to downsizing a few years ago, I contacted the Boston Fire Museum. They told me the helmet was from a Chief who later died (possibly line of duty). I shipped it back home to the Museum where it belongs along with my condolences.

Quite possibly an old US Army Quartermaster Corps issued helmet.

The third paragraph of the attached webpage covers the QMC history as to Army firefighting units prior to WWII.
