That's what I heard and we both have it down so I guess that's the way it goes haha
 
Not a Bronxite but a Queens guy!  However, it was formerly known as St Helena's HS - some of my classmates from grammar school went there.  Also had a first cousin who taught there years ago - other side of the Hutch is St Raymond's Cemetery .  How many people remember the Howard Johnson's that was up the road at the old Bruckner Blvd west of the Hutch?

  Yes, St. Helena's H.S., Howard Johnson's on the southside of the old Bruckner/Hutchinson River circle and the Whitestone Drive-In on the northside facing Ho-Jo's.
 
Played basketball against St Helena's In grade school. The gym was unique. The basketball court Was elevated As if it was on a stage. St Helena's was a powerhouse in that they drew from the large population of ParkChester. In 8th grade, we played St Judes in a tournament there.  At 5 foot 5, got to guard a guy named Lew Alcindor.

What is the damage to the building?
 
A little history update - For years there were two High Schools there. St. Helena's High School & also Monsignor Scanlon High School on the same property. St Helena's was teaching commercial courses for many years. That school was closed & Scanlon remained.

They were both part of St. Helena's parish from the Parkchester community & not any Catholic parishes from Throggs Neck.

I heard the rundown over the air, Engine 70 was assigned from City Island. Now that's history...
 
Would love to see the face of the boys over at 70 when this run came in... Would love to see the faces of the men of 53 even more... All alone in the house for a while!
